It's the old desk we bought from Housewerks a few weeks ago. They'd collected it from a prison. Well, after some serious sanding and a couple of coats of bottle green car paint (Cooper tells me it's a Porsche color) and varnish, courtesy of Burt at Pollard's Towing, it now looks like this:
It's been bolted to the floor in Dixon's room, where it has already become a favorite spot for scientific experiments and lots and lots of hard work. All in all, it's pretty cool.

Fun fact: Inmates in the Segregation ward in prison who are desperate to leave will place their hand on the wall and slam the chair into it to try and break it. Visiting the nurse is one of few reasons they are allowed out of Seg. Can you tell I've seen way too many prison shows?!
That is so smokin' looking! Does he get to claim prison cred in 1st (?) grade now? It only seems fair some how.
