Cheers to 2013!

It's champagne cocktail and champagne chair season - one of my favorite times of year.

Unlike in the past, this year, I'm still puzzling over what my New Year's Resolutions should be. Previous kept resolutions include getting more haircuts, wearing more mascara (or, actually, wearing mascara more frequently), taking up caftan-wearing, and having more parties.

Unkept resolutions include working less. And working less.

This past year has been a busy one (see: unkept resolutions), but also an exciting one. Between Dixon starting kindergarten and Cooper and I reviewing a restaurant every week for The Sun, things have been hectic, but so much fun. Add in a bunch of parties, a week in the Outer Banks, a few trips to Keuka Lake, a fantastic wedding in Vermont, and countless random nights spent hanging out in our kitchen with friends, and you've got a really fantastic year all around. One we've been lucky to have.

Tonight we'll celebrate with a quiet dinner and tomorrow at a huge party thrown by one of Mike's brother's and his wife.

And after that? If we're lucky, it'll be more of the same. More dinners, more parties, more nights hanging out in the kitchen.

What else could we ask for?
