Dixon's First Sauce

Big milestones for little kids: first day of school, learning to ride a bike, making their first sauce.

Or maybe that last one is only a big deal at our house.

At any rate, Dixon crossed that big boy bridge this weekend, when he created

his very own dipping sauce for chicken nuggets. Here he is, proudly posing next to

"DRP's Awesome Chicken Nugget Dipping Sauce."

The sauce was such a hit that he had to make a second batch on Sunday.

The sauce is a combination of ketchup, spicy mustard, black pepper and a splash of pickle juice.

It's a little sweet and a little spicy and the pickle juice makes it interesting.

We didn't record the proportions - I think my favorite part of the whole weekend was watching Dixon taste and taste, while adding little bits of mustard and pepper. He did such a good job!
