In the past week, I have been grappling with:
- a major work deadline
- a thrown-out back (that is not getting better and hurts enough to kill my appetite)
- a quickly dying modem
The modem is really the thing that's keeping me from blogging. I can't stay online for more than a few minutes without some sort of problem and everything's moving at a snail's pace. I've been hitting the library and panera to deal with the deadline, but that doesn't leave me much time for blogging.
I do have a new modem on the way from Verizon, though, and at least theoretically, it should be arriving any day now. Which means I'll be back on the blogging thing sooner, hopefully, rather than later.

"any day now?" How long have you been waiting for a modem? I know from experience that Verizon's customer service sucks on the phone end, but apparently it sucks on the internet end, too?
Well, I'm feeling sort of kindly towards them right now, since the modem arrived this morning (ordered on Friday - and my old one was 8 years old) and it wasn't too difficult to hook up.
My overall experience was lacking in some areas, though. Everyone I actually spoke with was helpful, but some of the people couldn't do everything I needed and every time they transferred me, I'd be bumped back into the main voice mail system, which is completely annoying and serpentine.
