Designing Tuesday: Sex and the Single Girl

Over at the Alluminare blog, I've got a post about the movie version of Helen Gurley Brown's Sex and the Single Girl, and its amazing sets. I won't rehash all the text here, but I will post the photos from the movie because they're pretty incredible.

For instance, this desk - I love it:
And how perfectly 1964 are this chaise and lamp:
The main character's apartment is a study in symmetry:
And in black and white, which extends to the bedroom:
So, of course, the photos translate nicely to black and white:
Looking at these photos also shows just how dead-on the Mad Men set designers are in their creation of early-to-mid '60s Manhattan interiors. Pretty fabulous, no?
