July seems like the start of "deep summer" to me - the time when it's really hot and really humid so cooking feels like a chore...but there's so much to cook. Our herbs are growing faster than I could possibly use them, and I have a good feeling about the assortment of vegetables I'll see at the farmer's market this afternoon.
Unfortunately, this season coincides with my laziest moods (I could just sit forever) and my busiest work season. This summer, just like last, I'll spend more time in front of my computer than during any other time of year.
I guess I should just be thankful for air conditioning.
