We are settled in Bethany now. My internet connection isn't great - I'm on our friend Kyle's computer right now - but at least it exists (because why would I want to actually disconnect while I'm on vacation?)
I'm going to forego my standard daily post setup this week, in favor of quick dispatches from the beach. So far, our meals have been absolutely standard beach fare: pizza, lots of grilling, corn and assorted other vegetables. Also, all of our carbs are coming from beer (or so it seems). The highlight so far: last night Alicia made her Old Bay butter to brush on corn. Delicious.
The weather's not looking fantastic today, so we might go the boardwalk instead of the beach. Where I'm sure we'll eat beautifully. I think I heard Alicia promise Dixon and Madison a corn dog. Yum. (Dixon and Madison are, obviously, in heaven. Maybe if I can get the internet to work on my computer, I'll post some pictures.)
Tonight we're going to this amazing Mexican place that's outside Fenwick on route 54. It's kind of a hole in the wall and definitely out of the way, but the food is outrageously good. Will report more tomorrow.
(Also, my stomach and legs are completely scorched. I look good.)

My mother always went to Bethany Beach as a child. Her parents always rented a little house by the beach. Of course, that was in the late 1940's and early 50's. The house is almost certainly gone. No computer to worry about though. And they could get crabs easily.
There are actually a lot of cool old houses here still. I think that's one of my favorite things about Bethany.
That...and the complete lack of work.
