Tuesday Tables: Eye Candy from Tory Burch

So I had this idea about posting a Mardi Gras-themed table today. Then I started looking around for Mardi Gras-themed tables and WOW they are an assault on the eyes. I like purple, green and yellow as much as the next girl, but the tables I found were just too bright, too beady, too much.

On one hand, Tory has had a rough go of it lately, what with her ex-husband starting a moderately priced version of a brand very similar to TB, right across the street from her Manhattan flagship. On the other hand, she and her sons look pretty happy at their beach house in the March 2012 issue of Vogue (not yet online) and there's no question that the Tory Burch brand is strong - both aesthetically and financially.

Marketing and intellectual property questions aside, I like this table. The colors are fresh - especially the way the bamboo plays off the blues - the potted plants make nice casual centerpieces, and I love the subtle pattern mixing. Brunch at Tory's looks pretty good.

I love the turquoise! I feel like I would be annoyed with the plants halfway through the meal, though

I see what you mean! But I figure the plants probably got moved right after the meal started (if there ever was an actual meal). But the table wouldn' be as pretty without the green and terra cotta...

I agree that you need the plants for the picture. Tablescapes bother me though, because anytime I want to create a nice tablescape for my dining room table, I immediately realize that it's totally not practical and just give up ahahahaha

Totally. Pretty tables never actually happen at my house. The pictures suck me in, though. I am always, always seduced by the pretty.
