Today is National Blueberry Pancake Day and if I had known that yesterday, I might have made Dixon blueberry pancakes for breakfast this morning. Except, who am I kidding? I don’t make pancakes. When we were younger, Cooper used to make pancakes on Sunday mornings (a tradition carried over from his dad) but these days, a big Sunday morning breakfast involves Cooper, Dixon, and Dunkin Donuts. Maybe we’ll reinstate the big weekend breakfast thing when Dixon gets a little older…and starts really sleeping through the night, so we’re actually rested on Sunday mornings.
But I digress. There’s not much other news today, except that it is the anniversary of the death of Charlemagne (814). Charlemagne isn’t mostly known for his foodiesm, but he had his moments, including banquets that served peacock and in which knives were used to eat (instead of fingers). Mmmm…Middle Ages!
Today it’s obviously blueberry pancakes to celebrate. And maybe a trip to Medieval Times if you’re in the mood for a little Knight’s Tale-style fun. Or, hey, just watch the movie. Because who doesn’t love medieval dancing to David Bowie? I can’t get enough of that scene.

The dance scene in that movie is one of the most ridiculous of the whole movie. Then again, the female lead's hair made me the most annoyed if I recall correctly. Thanks for the refresher though :)
