Old School Thursday: Really Slow Summer Edition

Wow. Foodies must be busy in mid-summer, vacationing, or laying by the pool or something. How else can you explain this:

Today is National Peach Ice Cream Day. And the anniversary of the death of Charles Grey (1845), 2nd Earl and the name behind the tea, the recipe for which he received from a Chinese mandarin with whom he was friends. (There’s more to that story, apparently, and it involves either the Earl or another Brit saving the Chinese friend’s life, but I don’t have all the details. Intriguing, though, huh?)

Anyway, that’s it. That’s all for today. Peach ice cream and Earl Grey tea. Nothing else.
Kind of interesting, though, that today’s things could be intertwined to make two sort of modern foods – peach tea and Earl Grey ice cream.
