Wow, today is uneventful. I mean, it is National Cheeseball Day, and I’m guessing that refers to actual balls of cheese, as opposed to kind of lame insults, Right?
And speaking of cheese, on today in 1810, Troy PA’s own Lewis M. Norton was issued the first US patent for pineapple cheese. I consider myself something of a connoisseur of regular, non-artisanal cheeses, but I’ve never even heard of pineapple cheese.
The only other real thing of note today is that it’s the anniversary of the death of Benjamin Franklin (1709). But as important as that is, it doesn’t really have to do with food.
