Old School: Frozen Chocolate Cheesecake Day

Today is National Chocolate Cheesecake Day AND National Frozen Food Day. So I guess It’s really, really, really National Frozen Chocolate Cheesecake Day, huh?

Appropriately so, too, as today in 1912, the Oreo cookie made its grand entrance onto the food scene (there’s your chocolate) and in 1930, retail frozen foods first went on sale in Springfield, Massachusetts (thank you, Clarence Birdseye).

I think it’s pretty clear what everybody needs to have for dinner tonight: an Oreo cookie-crust chocolate cheesecake, freshly sprung from the freezer.
